Our people are
our biggest strength
To us, people are everything; they are the fabric
of our company and the reason our workplace environment
is so enjoyable. That’s how we feel about
our clients as well as our staff.
Not surprisingly, when you apply for a position
at MRA, we not only look at your technical capabilities
(that’s a given!), we also look at:
- your attitude (are you positive, “can
do”, a problem solver, offer solutions?)
- how you communicate (are you open, do you
ask questions, enjoy speaking with people?)
- your work habits (are you diligent, committed,
organised, honest and reliable?)
- how you’ll fit in with our cultural
values (loyalty, respect for self and others,
results orientated, desired outcome focused)
- will you enjoy your work, our working environment
and your colleagues?
“I’m passionate about becoming
an excellent 'all rounder' engineer who can perform
in all fields of work on all levels. For example
being competent in all specialities such as programming,
electrical design, lighting and project management
etc.”
- Adam Gibson, Trainee Engineer
“The opportunity to be challenged
and take on responsibility in my role but with
the technical experience of our Senior Engineers
to call on or assist when required. It’s
not as if the Managers try and micro-manage every
step of”
- Lachlan Ellis, Project Engineer
The people we want on our team
- are competent and insightful
- demonstrate a capacity to meet agreed desired
outcomes
- are willing and able to listen, learn and
respond in line with our values compass
These qualities apply to all levels of people
within the company.
Our management style
We’re an engineering company with a human
face. We’re friendly, we care (cliché
but true) and have a people-centric culture.
Our management style is one of mentoring, guidance
and helping each other. Whilst the work is challenging:
- there’s no hierarchy
- management is approachable and responsive
- you can speak into the organisation
- we offer support when you need it
“Hard work done in a non-bureaucratic
atmosphere. Makes you comfortable to do your work
and relax at the end of the day.”
- Taff Moyo, Software Engineer
“The caring atmosphere and benefits
that MRA provides to all of its employees is the
greatest difference. By taking care of the welfare
and enjoyment of each of its employees, they respond
by ensuring that they focus on providing high
quality outputs, and are very approachable by
clients and colleagues alike.”
- Colin Smith, Senior Engineer
Self-manage rather than micro-manage
We’re happy for people to manage teams,
if they show that capability, and we have no wish
to micro-manage.
When mistakes are made, there’s no witch
hunt, we just make sure we learn from the experience
to avoid the same thing happening again.
A great variety of work
As we’re not a huge company you have the
opportunity to work across a number of industry
sectors, projects and classes of electrical engineering
work.
The principal engineers are happy to share their
vast technical and workplace experience to help
develop our people. With real insight you can
create exceptional results for clients as well
as yourself.
A career path or happy where you are
MRA is a well established company and been around
for a long time. So whether you’re looking
for an exciting career path or simply want to
put your existing skills to good use, you can
do so in a supportive environment.
“Good environment to learn from many
experienced and skilled engineers. On-the-job
training as well as access to industry training
courses. A gateway into large projects and worksites
with complicated systems and engineering solutions.”
- James Coulton, Project Engineer
What clients can expect from our people
We discuss the issues and are passionate about
getting to the heart of the matter, looking deeper
and resolving it.
Once we agree to clear goals, we develop simple
“on dates” and “at time”
action steps. That way we don’t chew up
valuable time doing jobs 10 times over.
Easily accessible and readily available
We’re accessible and available to both
our employees and our clients. When you work with
us, you’re part of a community.
“Multiskilled offers a friendly, family
orientated work environment which filters from
