Riotinto – Hunter Valley , Mount Thorley,
Warkworth Mines
Projects from a few $hundred to ~$1 million.
Multiskilled has a team of six people employed
on a continuous basis to identify improvements,
justify, cost, design and implement these across
a number of coal mine sites. Multiskilled also
coordinate and manage electrical works for shutdowns
and have performed a number of upgrades. Example
projects include:
Install six VVVF drives to cyclone pumps
at Hunter Valley CHPP
Install and commission VVVF drives to stacker
motions at Hunter Valley CHPP
Shutdown electrical management last couple
of shutdowns at Hunter Valley CHPP
Control system for HV Switchyard at Hunter
Valley Open Cut
Electrical system safety audit and compliance
upgrades for Mount Thorley CHPP
Control system improvements at a number of
washers
Port Waratah Coal Services – Stackers
and Reclaimers
Total Project: ~20 million each time, Control:
~$130,000. Multiskilled is currently programming
all automation for the new stacker. In the past
we have also been engaged to reprogram from scratch
Reclaimers and Stackers as our solution was found
to be more reliable and effective for operations
that that provided with the original equipment.

Water Management Systems
Multiskilled Resources Australia (MRA) has been
involved in the design, implementation and day
to day maintenance of various Water Management
Systems across the Newcastle and Hunter Valley
Areas. Some of these include:
Narama Open Cut Mine
Ravensworth East Open Cut Mine
PWCS Kooragang
Control of the water management systems is typically
achieved by using a PLC based Control System utilising
Radio Telemetry to relay information from station
to station. Operator Control is achieved by using
MMI screens displaying real time information and
control of the whole system.
Pictured is a typical PLC based remote Water
Management Station.
Orica – Kooragang Island
